COURSE DESCRIPTION

This three-day Intermediate Python Programming Course provides the students higher concepts and programming logics for those who have completed the Basics of Python Programming. Upon completion of this class, the student will be able to write non-trivial Python programs dealing with a wide variety of subject matter domains.

Topics include the overall language components, working with a professional IDE, Data Structures, Functions, Modules, Exceptions, Object-Oriented Python Programing, I/O, collections, classes, and Graphical Application Development as well as regular expressions. The course is supplemented with many hands-on labs, solutions, and code examples.

PREREQUISITES

We recommend that attendees of this course have the following prerequisites:

  • Has completed the 2-Day Basic Python Programming Training
  • Previous experience with other programming languages (C, C++, Java, Perl, Lisp, Visual Basic, etc.)
  • Students with technical inclination and some experience developing projects like spreadsheets, SPSS scripts, Bash scripts, or macros are welcome to join. Python is a great first language–it is very approachable and easy to learn
